Cottonwood Fire responded to an apartment fire Monday evening. Chief Mike Kuykendall says the fire was located in the 300-block of North 16-th Street. He says a Verde Valley Fire District engine was traveling nearby and arrived on scene within 3-minutes. Firefighters found a two story apartment building with active fire coming from the front of one apartment unit. Kuykendall says the fire was contained in 10-minutes with damage kept to the initial unit. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
