Central Arizona Fire responds to an explosion at a Tri-Plex in Prescott Valley.

Last night just after 8:30 pm, Central Arizona Fire responded to an explosion at a residence in the 8,000 block of Lakeshore Drive in Prescott Valley. Fire Marshal Rick Chase says the first engine on the scene found obvious structural damage indicative of an explosion and light smoke was showing from the eves of the roof.  There was also a small interior fire which crews were able to quickly extinguish. Chase says air monitoring meters showed no reportable quantities of natural gas. Crews also used thermal imaging cameras to ensure there were no hot spots or hidden fires. Chase says even though the residents were home at the time of the explosion no injuries were reported. The Building Department tagged the residence as unsafe to enter. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
