During last weekend’s winter storm, DPS responded to over 80 incidents around Flagstaff. Officials say troopers responded to: 25-Slide-Off Assists, 25-Non-Injury Collisions, 2-Injury Collisions, 35-Motorist Assists and 1-Fatal Collision. Spokesman Quentin Mehr says the fatality occurred Sunday evening on westbound I-40, 12 miles west of Flagstaff. Mehr says a pickup, driven by a 64 year old man from Flagstaff, ran off the road and rolled several times. One of his passengers, 64-year old Richard Blum, of Williams, died at the scene from his injuries. Mehr says icy roads and snow were a factor in this collision.
