Central Arizona Fire responds to attic fire in Dewey this morning.

Central Arizona Fire and Medical crews responded to the 10,000 block of Straight Arrow Drive in the Prescott Country Club area of Dewey this morning for an active fire at a residence. Fire Marshal Rick Chase says upon arrival crews could see smoke coming from the residence. Thermal imaging cameras showed active fire in the attic above the kitchen. Crews extinguished the fire and remained on scene for approximately an hour performing overhaul and safety checks.Chase says all occupants had evacuated safely. Though the cause of the fire is under investigation, Chase says faulty electrical wiring may be the cause. Damages are estimated at $10,000.
