Apps being taken for Prescott Valley Police Youth Academy

The Prescott Valley Police Department will hold their inaugural Youth Academy “A Peek behind the Curtain” during the first week of the New Year. The program is free to students ages 14-to-18 that attend school in Prescott Valley. The program will be held at the department. Spokesperson Jodi Mullins says we want our community’s youth to see what it means to be a police officer, to live a life of sacrifice and service to a community, and how rewarding and fulfilling this life can be. We have arranged specialized trainers to come and spend their time and knowledge enriching the lives of our participants. We have many surprises planned for attendees as they become part of a select group to get a “peek behind the curtain” at the leadership and ethics involved in this profession. Applications will be available online at the Prescott Valley Police Department’s website, at the high school and at the police station. Those accepted to the academy will be notified by mail by December 7-th.
