Director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, to retire in January.

Thursday, Governor Doug Ducey announced that Thomas Betlach, director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, will retire in January after 27 years of service to the state of Arizona. Betlach led Arizona’s Medicaid agency for the past nine years and served as its deputy director for the prior eight years. Betlach served under five different governors during his 27-year career. Prior to joining AHCCCS, he served Arizona as the state budget director for five years.
