Prescott Valley Police Department was awarded the Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant.

Recently, the Prescott Valley Police Department was awarded the Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant by the Office of Justice Programs to assist in purchasing three new ballistic vests for officer safety. Spokesman James Risinger says the Department has been working in partnership with the Bureau on providing ballistic vests to officers at little or no cost. Risinger says a vest typically lasts five years before it starts to degrade. Each vest typically cost $1200.00. With funding from the Bureau of Justice, half the cost of the vest is covered. The Department gives each officer another $400 to purchase a vest.
