Cottonwood Police responded to the 700 block of East Mingus Avenue Tuesday morning for the second day in a row because of a suspicious object or item. Sgt Monica Kuhlt says responding officers found another “plastic bottle bomb” but this time it was a 20-ounce plastic bottle. She says this particular “bomb” detonated prior to law enforcement being contacted. The noise of the detonation is what caused it to be located. Kuhlt says the cap blew off and was found about 15-feet away. Monday officers found two, 2-liter plastic bottle bombs in the same area one of which had detonated. Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Cottonwood Police or Yavapai Silent Witness. Kuhlt did not release what the bombs contained.
