Tonto National Forest crews are burning slash piles northeast of Payson near Tonto Village. A total of 204-acres are being treated with fire. Residents and visitors can expect to see and smell smoke over the next few days. Smoke will impact Tonto Village, Thompson Draw 1 and 2, Kohls Ranch and the Bear Flat communities.
