No injuries following a 12 hour standoff in Flagstaff

The Flagstaff Police Department’s Emergency Services Response Team responded to a home on North Allison Drive Monday after officers attempted to serve a warrant and custody order. Sgt Cory Runge says the subject barricaded himself with a firearm inside the residence with the children and threatened suicide. Flagstaff Police Department’s Hostage Negotiations Team negotiated with the subject for approximately three hours before the children were released. The team then negotiated for an additional nine hours before he turned himself over to police custody unharmed and without incident. Runge says no names have been released in an effort to protect the privacy of the victim.
