Recently, Sedona Fire acquired anew piece of equipment called an Auto Pulse Device. Fire Marshal Jon Davis says the device is designed to perform CPR more accurately than a human while leaving rescue crews to perform other vital life saving techniques. Davis says it has been proven to significantly increase survivability in cardiac arrest events and is a valuable addition to the District. The device was used for the first time Monday afternoon when crews responded to a cardiac arrest. Crews employed the Auto Pulse and the patient was revived on the way to the hospital, successfully proving it a valuable addition to the Fire District. One Auto Pulse Device costs $16,400 and Davis says it’s money well spent to save lives.
