Limited growth on the Cat Fire due to favorable weather conditions.

Fire managers on the Kaibab Ranger District say favorable weekend weather conditions limited fire growth yesterday on the over 4,600 acre Cat Fire. Crews took advantage of lighter than anticipated winds and higher humidity to focus on reconnaissance to the north-northwest, reinforcing the fire’s western flank, and planning options for future closures. The area around the blaze is currently restricted. The lightening caused Cat Fire has been burning since the beginning of August about 25 miles southeast of Jacob Lake in the Saddle Mountain Wilderness.
