YCSO traffic stop leads to meth/firearm seizure and multiple arrests

Sunday night, YCSO stopped a U-Haul on northbound I-17 near Cordes Lakes. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says contact was made with 38-year old Dustin Perley of Phoenix, 48-year old David Everitt Jr. of Clarkdale, 34-year old Ann Duffy of Phoenix and Duffy’s 15-year old daughter. He says the group claimed they were headed to Prescott even though they had already passed the exit. A record check indicated Duffy’s out of state license was suspended. Duffy remained unusually nervous during the contact with the deputy and was issued a citation. During further conversation, Duffy admitted carrying syringes used to inject meth, and a marijuana pipe in her purse while Perley admitted there was a meth pipe in the glove box. Deputies also recovered drug paraphernalia from Duffy’s purse. A further search of the vehicle located 22-grams of meth packaged for sale, a scale, meth pipe, baggies, marijuana and a .357-magnum in a suitcase belonging to Everitt who is a prohibited possessor. All were jailed on felony drug charges. The child was turned over to the Department of Child Safety.
