Two new radar speed signs for Prescott Valley

The Prescott Valley Police Department, through funding from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, has purchased two new radar speed signs to be installed in the Town of Prescott Valley. Spokesman Jerry Ferguson says these signs will be used to provide drivers with information on their speed, act as a deterrent, and collect data that can be used for enforcement and safety plans.  The radar signs will be placed on Glassford Hill Rd. One will be southbound traffic just before the high school and the other will be north bound in the area of Northern AZ Suns Blvd. The Glassford Hill Rd intersections are routinely within the top ten collision sites in Prescott Valley.  Glassford Hill Rd is a busy roadway with approximately 27,000 vehicles traveling on it every day. This is based on a 2017 roadway survey conducted by the Prescott Valley Road Department. Ferguson says the new radar signs are scheduled to be installed this week.
