Sunday, a small lightning strike fire started on Wilson Mountain. Coconino National Forest Spokesman George Jozens says the Wilson fire was less than an acre. Smoke can be seen from various parts of Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. Forest Service is monitoring the fire due to inaccessible rough terrain and weather hazards for firefighters. Jozens says at this time, the fire will burn until the monsoon stops it or fuels are consumed. He says trail closures in the area may be necessary. At this time, no structures are in any danger.
