The FBI in Phoenix says so far this year, Arizona residents have lost close to 1.3-million dollars to tech fraud scams. They say it’s an increase that surpasses last year’s total by 263%. FBI officials want to share a few tips to avoid becoming a victim; Use only customer service numbers from trusted websites, beware of the ones that pop up on an internet search. Install ad blocking software and insure all anti-virus, security and malware protection is up to date. The FBI also says no legitimate company will ever initiate unsolicited contact. And most importantly, never give an unverified person remote access to devices or accounts.
