PulsePoint Commmunity Launch, CPR and AED training next Wednesday

The Verde Valley Chief’s Association plans to launch the PulsePoint CPR/AED smartphone application to help improve sudden cardiac arrest survival rates in the Verde Valley. The PulsePoint app enables citizen bystanders to provide lifesaving CPR and access nearby public access AED. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a leading cause of death in the US, accounting for an estimated 325,000 deaths each year or 1,000 deaths per day. The American Heart Association estimates that effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest, can double or triple a person’s chance of survival. Residents are invited to the PulsePoint Community Launch, CPR and AED training next Wednesday at the Cottonwood Rec Center from 10am to 2 pm.
