DPS responded to a fatal crash around 9am this morning on northbound I-17, near Sunset Point. Trooper Quentin Mehr says a commercial tractor trailer collided two passenger vehicles, a pickup truck, and a box truck. Mehr says there is one confirmed fatality. No name has been released as of yet.Two people were transported from the scene for treatment of injuries. Three people were checked by medics on scene for minor injuries.
A HazMat team responded as the tractor trailer was leaking fuel onto the interstate. The crash blocked both northbound lanes for over an hour. Traffic is expected to remain down to one lane for several hours more.
