Game and Fish and APS teamed up for an osprey nestling with baling twine wrapped around one of its talons

Earlier this week, Game and Fish and APS teamed up to help an osprey nestling that had baling twine and netting wrapped around one of its talons. Officials say if the young bird had tried to fledge, it most likely would have died. Since the nest was in an 85 ft. snag and climbing was not safe, APS brought in a bucket truck to allow a Game and Fish employee to get to the nestling and remove the twine and netting. Game and Fish kept an eye on the bird and says it has now fledged, is able to perch and fly without issue.
