Consumer Federation report says July 4th is the day with the highest number of OHV fatalities

According to a report from the Consumer Federation of America, most Off Highway Vehicle fatalities occur in July and that typically, July 4-th is the day with the highest number of fatalities each year. Officials say there are many actions operators of OHVs can take to ensure their safety and that of those around them; Always wearing a helmet, wearing a seat belt at all times, only carrying the number of passengers recommended by the vehicle’s manufacturer, wearing appropriate protective clothing and gear-including eye wear, never riding alone and by staying on designated trails. Officials also advise all OHV enthusiasts, whether new to the hobby or veteran riders, to take a safety education course. More information about courses, rules and regulations as well as places to ride, can be found on Game and Fish’s website, azgfd.gov/OHV
