Tuesday, Navajo County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified that a 1-year old child missing since May was possibly in the Holbrook area. The father had recently been granted full custody and the mother, 42-year old Heather Tarter of Arkansas, was suspected of abducting their 12 month old daughter, Indiana. Holbrook Police Department and MCAT spotted Tarter’s vehicle parked at a local motel. Tarter was located inside and found to be traveling with her mother, 67-year old Jeri Dianna Tarter and the little girl. Both Tarter and her mother were arrested and are being held in the Navajo County Jail for Custodial interference. The 12 month old baby was turned over the Department of Child Safety in Flagstaff.
