Lane closure and traffic backups over 12 miles long after a semi crashes on south bound I-17

I-17 was down to one lane for almost 15 hours yesterday (Tuesday) on south bound I-17 near Bumble Bee after a tractor trailer crashed. Spokesperson Quentin Mehr says the crash occurred just after 3 am when the driver of a commercial vehicle, travelling south bound on I-17 carrying a load of concrete, lost control of the semi and ran into the median. Mehr says the driver of the vehicle was transported to Phoenix area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  He says one lane was closed for over 14 hours during recovery and cleanup operations. At one point traffic was backed up over 12 miles.
