Evacuation lifted due to 377 Fire

There’s some good news regarding the 377 Fire near Heber. The blaze is now 20% contained at 5,180-acres. A second fire along Highway-377 was completely contained Tuesday at 72-acres. Today crews will patrol containment lines, assess unburned green islands and continue to enforce and secure the fire line. Air support will help to keep the fire within those control lines. ADOT opened Highway-277 for travel with reduced speed in the fire area; the entire length of Highway-377 remains closed from Holbrook to Highway-277. The evacuation order for Despain Ranch has been lifted. The 377 Fire was caused by a tailgate on a trailer that was dragged down the highway, creating sparks. Apparently the hydraulics gave out, allowing the tailgate to drop.
