Despite forest closures, anglers can still find plenty of opportunities during the Memorial Day weekend. According to Game And Fish, some of the best options in the White Mountains for trout fishing include: Big; Greer; Show Low; Fool Hollow; Luna, Hulsey, Woods Canyon; Willow Springs; Bear Canyon and Carnero lakes.  Other options include walleye fishing at Lyman Lake and smallmouth bass fishing at Show Low Lake. Also, Tiger trout are stocked in Becker, Carnero, Kinnikinick, Willow Springs and Woods Canyon lakes. In the Flagstaff and Williams area, anglers can try Ashurst, Kinnikinick and Kaibab lakes as well as Frances Short Pond. Reservoirs along the Salt and Verde rivers on U.S. Forest Service land remain open, as well as lakes in the Coronado National Forest.
