Electric fence triggers grass fire near homes

Early this (Monday) morning Central Arizona Fire and Medical crews were dispatched to a report of a grass fire that was near homes in the area of Windmill Way. Officials say crews arrived to find a homeowner using a garden hose on the small blaze and crews extinguished what was left of the fire easily. Officials say during the investigation phase it was discovered that the fire started from an electric fence that was triggered from dogs jumping on it. Officials say neighboring properties had the grass cut short which aided in keeping the fire from spreading.
