Local fire officials say since the beginning of April there has been 7 wildfires across the state with all 7 being human caused. Officials say residents need to be mindful that fires can be started from smoking materials being thrown from a vehicle, chains dragging between vehicle and a trailer, worn tires with the steel belts exposed to the pavement or any other type of metal dragging from a vehicle. Thursday morning, Jerome Fire responded to three fires along 89A that are still under investigation but officials suspect dragging chains as the cause.
