Subject sought in connection with a wildfire in Flagstaff

A transient man started a wildfire Thursday morning near the Water Treatment Plant on Babbitt Drive. Flagstaff Police Sergeant Cory Runge says they have issued a summons for a subject whose name has not been released. Runge says the man started a campfire at a homeless site near the Plant and was seriously burned. He says the individual was driven to the hospital by a friend and then transferred to a Phoenix burn unit. Runge says when the subject heard he was being sought by police for reckless burning he fled the hospital. The fire charred 2-acres before being stopped in the high winds.
