Tractor Trailer hauling an oversized load of heavy equipment took a wrong turn on the way to Paulden and ended up in Jerome

Early this morning a Tractor Trailer hauling an oversized load of heavy equipment took a wrong turn on the way to Paulden and ended up in Jerome. Assistant Chief Don Devendorf says the semi was hauling a backhoe with a bucket the size of a car when it was stopped in front of the Jerome Police Station. Devendorf says the driver of the semi told officials it was his boss who told him to go that way. Devendorf says fire crews assisted Jerome Police in escorting the semi through town. He says incidents like this happen on a monthly basis despite the numerous signs posted prohibiting trailers over a certain length from traveling the 11 mile stretch over Mingus Mountain.
