YCSO identifies man that died on Prescott area trail

YCSO has identified the person that died while on a trail in the Prescott area Sunday. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says 71-year old David Mangan from Prescott collapsed and ultimately died during a mountain bike ride on the West Side Story Trail near Iron Springs Road. He says Mangan had been riding with several riders from a local cyclist group when the incident occurred. A nurse riding with the group and Prescott Fire tried to revive Mangan with CPR, but their efforts could not bring him back. D’Evelyn says one of the group members told deputies Mangan met the group about 1-pm and he appeared ok. Mangan took a break at 1:30 and just a few minutes later, collapsed. It’s believed Mangan had a medical emergency.
