Saturday is the first annual “National Stop the Bleed Day”

Saturday is the first annual “National Stop the Bleed Day”. The nationwide campaign highlights the importance of Stop the Bleed training and provides information and education through local fire, EMS, and health care professionals. Free Bleeding Control Basics classes are being offered in Flagstaff on Saturday; from 10 to 12 at the LEAF Auditorium, from 1 to 3 at Highlands Fire Station 23 and from 3 to 5 at the McGee Auditorium. Go to bleedcontrol.org for more information or to find additional classes. Uncontrolled bleeding can result in death in as little as five minutes.  Officials say the only thing more tragic than a death from bleeding is a death that could have been prevented.
