A few more details have been released regarding the house fire on Bridle Path Monday morning. Verde Valley Fire Chief Nazih Hazime says the cause of the blaze has been linked to a malfunctioning generator on the porch. Neighbors noticed the home had caught fire and notified the residents. Hazime says the home was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.Hazime says several challenges for this fire included lack of water and a one-way street as well as a power line had burned through on one side of the house. Crews had to wait for APS to shut off the power before they could begin firefighting operations, as the wire was down and arcing.Hazime says crews could not enter the structure due to fire load and unsafe conditions inside the house. Crews spent almost 12 hours fighting the blaze and had to return this morning to when hot spots reignited. Hazime says the amount of clutter in and around the home, including numerous autos in the yard also made this fire difficult to put out. Copper Canyon, Sedona and Cottonwood Fire also assisted.
