Sunday Lecture at Red Rock State Park- Sacred Scarlets
April 2, 2017 2:00 PM
For over 1,000 years Scarlet Macaws have dazzled the people of the Southwest. Their brilliantly colored plumage and large size inspire curiosity in all who gaze upon them. Many visitors are impressed when they learn these exotic birds were traded into Verde Valley, and farther north, from hundreds of miles South into modern day Mexico. April 2nd at 2:00pm at Red Rock State Park, Kelley Taylor, founder of Sacred Scarlets, will be presenting these amazing birds as ambassadors for their protection in the wild while sharing their long, rich sometimes mysterious and often unknown history in the American Southwest.
Seating is limited and by reservation only. Call Red Rock State Park at (928) 282-6907 to reserve your spot. This Sunday lecture is included in park admission of $7 per adult (ages 14 and older) and $4 per child (ages 7-13).
