Diane Phelps, award-winning author, will conduct a workshop, “Who Will Buy Your Book?  Identifying Your Audience” on self-publishing and book marketing, an event sponsored by the Professional Writers of Prescott.  Diane will call on her experience from self-publishing her books to help demystify the process.  The meeting will be on Wednesday, June 28th from 6:00 PM to 7:45 PM in the Crystal Room (3rd floor) at the Prescott Valley Public Library.  As always, PWP’s monthly meetings are open to the public.

“Identifying the audience for your book should be your first step as an author, certainly before finishing your book.  Your marketing should be based on what you know about potential readers.”  In this seminar, participants will use a worksheet supplied by Diane to determine a book’s best audiences, using multiple factors to describe them.

Professional Writers of Prescott, a 30-year-old organization, and also known as Prescott Writers, is a network of published and non-published writers and editors who live in the “Quad-Cities” – Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, and Dewey/Humboldt, and in the Verde Valley – Sedona, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Cornville, and Clarkdale, in Yavapai County, Arizona.  We aim for the highest expression of our craft and are dedicated to sharing our expertise with less experienced writers.
