Blood Drive a Success, O- Still Needed

A Vitalant blood drive held last week at the Prescott Valley Public Library was deemed an incredible success with 50 successful donations recorded. Each unit of blood could help save the lives of two to three people in need, according to Lori Bone Hilliard, senior account manager for Vitalant. Donors of all blood types are desperately needed, especially Type-O, the universal blood used in emergencies and traumas. It should be noted that the blood supply in Arizona and nationwide has dropped to its lowest level in a year, pushing for an emergency appeal fordonors. Vitalant is Arizona’s largest nonprofit community blood provider supplying 62 Arizona hospitals.
