Suspect Arrested in shooting of man leaving Flagstaff Police Station

Flagstaff Police have arrested the man that shot and robbed another man as he was leaving the jail Wednesday night. Sgt. Corey Runge says the suspect was arrested Thursday. He says they received a call informing them that the suspect was 38 year old David Scrum of Flagstaff. As officers were searching for Scrum it was learned that he was at the hospital. Officers responded and Scrum was arrested and he did confess to being involved in the shooting. Runge says Wednesday night Scrum approached a man leaving the jail and asked the man if he worked inside. When the man answered no Scrum shot the victim, stole his property and fled in a vehicle. Runge says Scrum is charged with Attempted 2-nd Degree Murder. The victim is expected to survive his injury.
