Intoxicated man tazed by police after 911 calls reported he threatened them with a gun
Flagstaff Police responded to a 911 call reporting a man who may have made threats to shoot people. The threats were allegedly made as they were being kicked off a city bus for drinking. Officials say responding officers located the men on Milton Road and ordered them onto the ground. Officials say one man immediately complied, but the second subject, identified as 30-year old Leander Yazzie, continued to walk towards officers. After several warnings, Yazzie was tazed and taken into custody. In his backpack, police found a pellet gun that looked like a real handgun. Later at the hospital, Yazzie stated he was trying to get the officers to shoot him. Yazzie was jailed on charges of refusal to obey an officer and discharging a weapon in city limits.
