Flash Flood Watch across Western Arizona this afternoon into tonight
The National Weather Service in Bellemont has issued a Flash Flood Watch from 2-pm this afternoon through this evening. This includes portions of north central Arizona and west central Arizona, including the following areas, in north central Arizona, Coconino Plateau, Grand Canyon Country, and Kaibab Plateau. In west central Arizona, Yavapai County Mountains and Yavapai County Valleys and Basins; this includes the Goodwin Fire burn scar. Southerly flow will bring increased amounts of moisture from this afternoon through late tonight. The stronger storms will be capable of producing rainfall amounts of one to two inches in a short period of time. Areas of particular concern include the Grand Canyon, Havasu Canyon and Supai, as well as fire scars and low water crossings in the watch area.
