Driver Killed in Single Vehicle Accident in Lakeside Monday Morning

Early Monday morning the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident on Rim Road in Lakeside.  Officials say when deputies arrived on scene they found a Jeep with 4 occupants off the road with extensive damage. The driver was unconscious with no pulse and pinned inside the vehicle. Deputies began CPR until Timber Mesa Fire crews arrived. The driver, identified as 24 year old Samuel Joseph Jolley, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The three passengers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries; only one was wearing a seatbelt. Sheriff’s Officials say it appears the vehicle was traveling too fast, failed to negotiate a turn and struck several trees and a fence. The Navajo County Medical Examiner’s office will determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor into the accident.
