Cordes Lakes Issues Water Emergency Due to Extreme Heat
Due to the extreme heat, the water demand in the Cordes Lakes Water System has increased and the system has not been able to keep up. Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Spokesman David McAtee says Cordes Lakes has issued a Stage 3 Water Curtailment and is asking its customers to reduce their daily water consumption by 50%. Water is being trucked in from Prescott Valley to fill the tanks. Cordes Lakes is also implementing a planned system-wide shut down each night between 11-pm to 3-am until the system recovers; if your water is shut off during that time that is why. McAtee says a limited supply of bottled water is available at the Mayer Fire Station in Cordes Lakes. Bring a driver’s license with you to prove you’re a resident.
