Coconino County enters Stage 1 fire restrictions below the Mogollon Rim
Coconino County has entered Stage 1 fire restrictions for public lands and unincorporated areas of the county below the Mogollon Rim. The Coconino County Board of Supervisors enacted the ordnance during a special session Tuesday. Burning and campfires are prohibited unless you have a special written permit. Smoking is only allowed in an enclosed vehicle, building or developed recreation site. Devices fueled by liquid petroleum or LPG fuels are allowed if they can be turned on and off, such as a gas grill, and electric generators or pumps must have an approver spark arrestor. The Prescott National Forest and Yavapai County are also in fire restrictions, as is the entire Tonto National Forest and most BLM lands. For details on restrictions in your area contact your local fire agency.
