Just before 3 am this morning, DPS troopers responded to a vehicle fire on westbound I-40 west of Ash Fork. Trooper Kameron Lee says a semi pulling a car-hauler caught fire. He says it appears the fire originated in the rear axle of the trailer. The semi was disconnected and saved but the trailer was a total loss. Several of the vehicles loaded on the trailer caught fire but it’s unknown how many were damaged. Traffic was able to get by in the left lane.
