New Veteran’s home to be built in Flagstaff

The Federal Government has authorized funding to build two new state nursing homes for military veterans in Yuma and Flagstaff. The state previously appropriated $19.2 million funding for Arizona’s contributions for the two new homes. Officials say the 80-bed home in Flagstaff will be built on McMillan Mesa on city-donated land. Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans says plans call for construction to begin in early 2019 and be completed within two years. Arizona currently has veteran’s homes in Phoenix and Tucson with a combined 320 beds.

  1. I work at the Northern Arizona VA in Prescott. How does a Veteran apply to stay at the Flagstaff facility? What will the process be? Has the building begun? Where can Veterans and their families get more information?
