Cottonwood Fire responded to a downed power line Wednesday evening around 6:30pm. Chief Mike Kuykendall says a truck pulling a fifth-wheel pulled out of a lot on South Candy Lane, near Mingus, and caught low hanging wires and sheared off the power pole. Kuykendall says crews arrives to find power lines laying across the top of the fifth-wheel. He says the occupants of the vehicle were advised to stay inside of the truck until APS arrived and turned off the power. Kuykendall also says the downed lines sparked a small brush fire which crews quickly extinguished. Power was restored to most residents in less than an hour.
