PV man charged with brutally assaulting his girlfriend

YCSO arrested a Prescott Valley man recently on charges he brutally assaulted his girlfriend. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says 33-year old Casey Crum was involved in an argument with his 42-year old girlfriend as they were walking near the Kohl’s Department Store in Prescott Valley. As the argument continued, he pushed her into a ditch. Crum then walked away and left the victim alone. It took the victim several minutes to get out of the ditch as she had struck her head, nearly passed out, and suffered an injury to her neck as a result. The victim returned to her home in the Castle Canyon Mesa neighborhood of Prescott Valley. Crum was present and continued the assault by striking her in the face with his fist. He also threw an oxygen tank against a wall and destroyed a cell phone he had forcibly removed from her grasp. The woman was taken to YRMC and then to a Phoenix area hospital for treatment of fractured vertebrae and bruising to her jaw. D’Evelyn says Crum was located and taken into custody; he has denied the allegations and is currently free on bond.
