Free slash drop off through June in Yavapai County

Yavapai County is once again offering the free slash drop off program. The program runs through June 1-st. Brush, branches, grass, leaves and yard trimmings can be dropped off free of charge at any county transfer station. Stations are located in Black Canyon City, Camp Verde, Congress, Mayer, Paulden, Seligman, and Skull Valley. Yavapai County Emergency Management spokesperson Marcie Slay says this program is intended to encourage residents to create defensible space around their property. Cut away vegetation 5-to-30-feet from all structures. Remove all debris and dead vegetation from roofs, decks, and the ground around your home and remember to be cautious of sparks as you’re cutting and trimming. Residents are also reminded to be prepared to leave in a moment’s notice if their homes and property are threatened. If asked to evacuate have the 6-P’s ready to go; People and Pets, Prescriptions, Papers, Priceless Items, Phones and computers.
