90 Day Forecast calling for warm and dry

The National Weather Service in Bellemont released the latest 90-day forecast. Meteorologists say there hasn’t been much change. Drought conditions worsened over all of northern Arizona in March and weather trends indicate temperatures will be above normal and precipitation will be below normal. The potential for significant wildland fires are forecast to gradually increase across southern Arizona into the Mogollon Rim. March had a few precipitation events, however rainfall and snowfall amounts were still generally about 50% of normal or less for the month. Extreme drought conditions spread farther north and westward in March.  All of Apache, Navajo, and Gila counties are now in extreme drought. Eastern Coconino and southern Yavapai counties are also in extreme drought. Western Coconino and northern Yavapai counties are now in a severe drought.
