Despite efforts to get the public to douse their campfires, abandoned campfires are starting to show up on our national forests. Prescott National Forest patrols found two over the weekend; Coconino National Forest patrols found 11 last week and one over the weekend. Officials say anyone of these campfires could have turned into a fast moving wildfire due to our current drought conditions. If you spot an abandoned campfire, call 911.
