Sedona Fire responds to a report of a body lying 50-feet below a cliff at Grasshopper Point

Early Wednesday evening, Sedona Fire responded to a report of a body lying 50-feet below a cliff at Grasshopper Point on Highway 89A north of Sedona. Fire Marshal John Davis says a family, who stopped to take a photo, spotted the man and called 911. Davis says Technical Rescue crews ascertained that the man was critically injured and performed a high angle rescue with ropes and a litter to get the body up to the roadway to an awaiting helicopter. The victim was then flown to FMC for treatment of serious injuries. Davis says it’s unknown how long the person was lying there but it seemed to have been for several hours.
