DPS identifies the man that led a trooper on a pursuit that ended in a crash on the NAU campus

DPS identified the man that lead a trooper on a pursuit that ended in a multi vehicle crash on the NAU campus Friday afternoon. Officials say the suspect has been identified as 38-year old Lee Harris of Arkansas. The incident began when the Gila County Sheriff’s Office tried to stop Harris near Payson; a check of the vehicle he was driving indicated the driver had several out of state warrants and may have kidnapped the woman in the vehicle with him. Harris managed to elude capture at that time. A Trooper spotted Harris in Flagstaff, but before they could conduct a traffic stop, he drove onto the NAU campus and caused a multi-vehicle crash; one of the vehicles involved in that crash was the Troopers vehicle. Harris was taken to FMC for minor injuries and then booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges of, Felony Flight, Criminal Damage, Endangerment, Aggravated Assault as well as the three Felony Warrants.
